Appearance

A player must take part in the match to receive the appearance point. Being named in the squad but not playing does not count.

Goals

Awarded to the player credited with the goal by the team. An own goal does not give fantasy points to an attacking player.

Assists

Maximum one assist per goal. An assist goes to the player who makes the final deliberate pass or play to the goalscorer, where that action directly creates the goal. A player cannot assist themselves.

To keep this objective:

  • A pass across goal which is finished counts as an assist.
  • A through ball or pass into the circle which the scorer controls and scores from counts.
  • At a penalty corner, the final pass to the scorer gets it. Injector to stopper to scorer means the stopper gets the assist, not the injector.
  • A shot saved by the keeper and scored from the rebound counts, if the scorer is a different player.
  • A shot rebounding off a post and then scored counts.
  • Winning a penalty flick counts, if it is scored.
  • Winning a penalty corner does not count.

If it is genuinely unclear whether something was a pass or a shot, no assist is awarded.

Cards

Points are deducted for every card received. If a player picks up more than one card, each applicable penalty is counted.

Man of the Match and Dick of the Day

Plus 5 to the player officially selected as Man of the Match, minus 5 to the player officially selected as Dick of the Day. A player can receive both in the same game.

Goals conceded

Based on the team’s final score, and awarded to everyone who played in that match.

  • None conceded, plus 5
  • One conceded, plus 3
  • Two conceded, plus 2
  • Three conceded, plus 1
  • Four or more conceded, nothing

Umpiring

Plus 5 for fulfilling an umpiring duty. If you umpire on a day when you do not have a league match yourself, it is plus 6 instead.

Penalty strokes

A player who takes and misses a penalty stroke gets minus 3. A goalkeeper who saves a penalty stroke gets plus 5.

Disputes

Any disputed goal, assist, Man of the Match or Dick of the Day is decided by the league organiser or captain, and that decision is final. No retrospective appeals once the weekly scores have been published.
